Perth has a convenient and safe public transport system that services the entire metropolitan area. Transperth, who manages this system, operates all bus, train and ferry services in Perth.
Bus:
A Free Transit Zone (FTZ) operates in the city and provides free public transport within the Perth city boundaries. Passengers can travel within this area for free. To identify the boundaries of the FTZ, bus stops are identified with the FTZ logo.
The Central Area Transit (CAT) system provides a free, fast and convenient bus service to the city’s points of interest. CAT buses are colour coded and Perth CAT stops offer real-time information for when the next bus is due. A Blue CAT stop is located at the Elizabeth Quay Busport (adjacent to Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre).
